I already have a tank but need to know if $8600 is a good price or if I could find it cheaper.

You should get bids from at three different reputable excavators.  I have no idea what the "going rate" is for that type of system where you live.

Try to find the cheaper septic tank in Charleston area & keep on checking  competitors price.$8600 sounds really high amount, when you already have one.
