All right! Out of curiosity, does that mean ALL current IOWPA certifications will be null and void starting in 2011, considering they were granted under the previous rule?

The plan is... for the State Department of Health to conduct six regional trainings for local health departments. IOWPA is planning to do similar trainings, along with testing, for excavators. The goal is to get all the health department staff and excavators trained, tested and re-certified by Jan 1 (the date this rule will go into effect). That said, local health departments have the authority to decide if and when their local installer's IOWPA certifications expire. Some Counties might want to allow current IOWPA certifications to last through January 2011. This would give their local excavators the option to re-certify at the January conference, if they are unable to attend a local training session prior to January.
This option would also help to attract more people to the conference.

Here is the direct link to the entire ISDH Article 6 - Sanitary Engineering. The new residential septic rule 8.2 starts on page 87 and ends on page 134. http://www.in.gov/legislative/iac/T04100/A00060.PDF?I don't know if this is exactly the same as Stuart's link, but it here nonetheless.

Toxic,
The State Department of Health sent me the most recent version of 410 IAC 6-8.2. I updated the link at the top of the page with their newest version (and will continue to do so). There might be tiny changes to clarify sections.

FYI...you can request a copy of the new rule with ALL new information highlighted. This makes it much easier to see what has changed. Just contact ISDH or your local health department.
