What a windstorm... I awoke about 3am to a huge thud, and the septic alarm going off. A tree fell, smashing the side of my septic riser in the process. It sits in the back yard, and was recently camouflaged with dry stack rocks around the base, and a large square of granite on the top.. with flower pots on that. Look(ed) lovely. So much for that...

I have removed the major debris from the outside, but all kinds of debris from the smashed flowers, granite, etc. fell into the tank! The riser is a ?polypropylene type, 24 x 18 tall. The tank is about 5 years old. Do I need to have this thing professionally cleaned out, or?? Any help with this topic is appreciated!

I would recommend having it looked at by a pumper/excavator.  Any debris should be removed from the tank.  How long has it been since it's been pumped?  Perhaps it was time to get it pumped anyways.
Someone should give it a close look to make sure there that the damage isn't worse than what you originally thought.  It's possible that the top of the tank is also broken (or cracked) and the whole tank should be replaced.

Yes, definitely have it looked at and the riser replaced.  Be sure to get a leak proof riser that gives good access to the tank.

Good luck!
