What do I have to do to get my septic situation approved, or how do I speak the
correct language.
My local inspector has turned down using the largest septic tank, using a smaller
septic tank, and then putting in a new septic tank.  I am turning in an appeal to our
health department.  What can I say to help me get approved.

Here is a rundown on situation:
I have a 3 acre commercial property zoned industrial.....I can have one trailer on property..
I bought moved a trailer to property, wanted to hook the trailer up to a large septic 1000
gal, 4 laterals...which is also the buildings septic...we have 2 bathrooms in building we are
open 4 pm to 7 pm 4 days a week with about 30 children in the building...
Inspector said no..........I wanted to hook trailer to 500 gal system....said no
Wanted to put in a new septic, they had In soil scientist and he said gravel, sand too large
NO...So I am taking out bathrooms in the building, going down to one toliet in building and had
the septic tank cleaned out.

IS this enought?  or do I need a lawyer?  I am only
doing this to have my daughter live here as she had her home foreclosed.  Any help PLEASE

What additional information do you have on the absorption(s) field that goes with your tanks?  Does the health department have any record of the existing system?  Has an inspection been done?

The health department wants to make sure there is a legitimate existing system before they let you hook up with a new house.  They can assume that the tank outlet hooks to an existing field tile that runs to a ditch unless you can prove otherwise.

First and foremost, considering this is NOT a residential property, you are supposed to contact the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) if you are proposing changes to the septic system.  ISDH will review your proposal and then hand it off to the local health department.

My property is out of city, and no one is near the property, it is bordered on 2 sides by
large lake........the septic system I want to hook onto is a 1000 gal with 4 laterals
and they just extend into the property......it is on record...The system is 20 years old, I
just had the septic cleaned out for the first time last week.  We have never had any
problems with the septic system.

Can anyone explain:   410 IAC 68 10 et Seq. used  as:  include proposed terms or conditions which in the judgement of the petitioner would appropriate to carry out the requirements of lawy
and 410IAC 68 10 et Seq.Huh??
