ok the outlet box the pumps are connected to.  The outlet is a surge protector type with reset, test buttons.  WHen the pump kicks on the outlet blows so breaker is off and no power.  But if I take a extension cord and plug the pumps into that from outside house outlet it works fine.

any thoughts would help?

Sounds like a short in the wiring from the pump to the house. Recommend to have a electrician to check out. good luck   Phil Z

Definitely need to have an licensed electrian look at it, 99% chance it is not connected properly.  See all the time with septic installers attempting to play electrician.

I've NEVER had any luck running pumps off of a ground fault circuit,,,,,, so we don't use them and our pumps work great.
